FAQ

Questions about Foretic.

Foretic is an outcome control system: it forecasts where the business is heading, paces that forecast against your goal, helps you act on the levers that keep results on target, and seals the results that matter into a verifiable record.

What is Foretic?

Foretic is an outcome control system. It builds a live forecast of where your business is heading, paces that forecast against the goal you set, explains what's moving the number, and helps you act on the operational levers that keep results on target, then seals the results that matter into a verifiable record. Dashboards report what happened. Forecasts predict what might. Foretic acts.

What is “outcome control”?

Outcome control is the layer between knowing where you're heading and actually landing there. Rather than just drawing a forecast, Foretic paces live performance against your target, surfaces the pressure building against it, and moves the operational levers. All within guardrails you define in order to keep the outcome on track.

How is Foretic different from a dashboard or BI tool?

Dashboards tell you what already happened, usually after the miss. Foretic looks forward: it forecasts the path, flags drift early, explains the drivers, and helps you act before the period closes. It's an operating workspace, not a rear-view report.

How is Foretic different from forecasting or FP&A software?

Forecasting shows you where you're heading, then stops. It's passive. Foretic keeps going: it paces the forecast against your goal, explains what changed, and helps you move the levers to hold the number. Most tools predict; Foretic is built to act on the prediction.

Who is Foretic for?

Founders, CEOs, CTOs, and the teams on the hook for a number; revenue, margin, inventory, service levels, pipeline, capacity. If your team runs on forecasts and reviews but still gets surprised by misses, Foretic gives everyone one shared, live view of where the business is and what needs attention next.

Do we have to replatform or migrate our systems?

No. Foretic sits beside your existing stack and connects to the data you already have — files, webhooks, analytics, POS, CRM, billing and commerce — historical or live. It acts through the same platform APIs your systems already expose. No replatforming, no migration.

Does Foretic act on its own?

Only as far as you allow. Every lever operates inside guardrails you define, and teams adopt control in stages: start by observing, graduate to recommendations, then to approved automated changes. Foretic can recommend or execute lever changes, always within the limits you set.

What does “provable, not explainable” mean?

Most tools can explain a number. Foretic goes further: when a result has to be trusted, you can seal it, freezing the inputs and locking an integrity hash. From that moment the result is independently verifiable and tamper-evident proof, not just a narrative.
